Berit H. Thorne, of Felton, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 79. Mrs. Thorne was born in Graverne, Sweden to the late Karl and Margit Wingard.
Mrs. Thorne was a homemaker. She spent all of her time taking care of her family which she loved immensely. She enjoyed going for walks and gardening. She will be remembered as a reserved person with a big heart. Her family was her life, and she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Wingard, and a sister, Yvonne Wingard.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Raymond Thorne of Felton; daughters, Shirley Thorne of Dover, Susanne Desgaines of Shirley, NY, Rosemarie Braddy of Greenwood; brother, Gostas Wingard of Alingsas, Sweden; 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, October 25, 2013, at 1 PM, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hopkins Cemetery, Felton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way
