HARRINGTON, DE - Arlene Zook passed away on July 13, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Earnest and Amelia Brenneman.
Mrs. Zook was a school bus driver for 21 years with Annette Bus Service for Milford and Woodbridge School Districts. She was also a charter bus driver for Bowman, Mills and Jorlin. Her bus trips took her all over from Branson, MO to New York to Florida, and from the Grand Canyon to New Orleans.
Mrs. Zook enjoyed gardening, crafts, bird watching and putting puzzles together. She also delighted in meeting her friends every Wednesday morning for breakfast at Smiths restaurant. Mrs. Zook never met anyone who she couldn't strike up a conversation with. She was always smiling and could lift up the spirits of everyone. She was a very hardworking, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Pastor Lowell Bechtel was like a son to Arlene & Noah and a brother to the family. Mrs. Zook was a member of the Tressler Mennonite Church as well as the Ladies Auxillary of Farmington Fire Co.
She is survived by her sons, Elwood Zook (Deborah) of Clayton and R. Wayne Zook (Sheila) of Greenwood; daughters, Ruby F. Cahall of Greenwood, Doris E. Davis of Frederica and Donna Rash (Don) of Laurel; brothers, Allen Brenneman of Accident, Md., Elmer Brenneman of Eurica, Mt., and Jr Brenneman of Grantsville, Md.; sisters, Mirian Brenneman of Accident, Md., and Lois Brenneman of Grantsville, Md.; grandchildren, Carla, DeAnna, Brad, Jason, Allison, Tracy, Brian, Melissa, Chris, April, Amy, Dustin, Cynthia, Krystal and Brandon; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Noah Zook; brothers, Alvin Brenneman, Sam Brenneman, Carl Brenneman, and Bud Brenneman; sisters, Olive Puffinburg Ruth Headings, Rhoda Miller, Leona Beitzel.
Service will be held Friday, July 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the Tressler Mennonite Church, Greenwood, De. another visitation on Thursday, July 19, 2012, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Greenwood Mennonite School. Interment will be in Tressler Mennonite Cemetery.
