HARRINGTON — Anne M. Rabe passed way on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Bayhealth, Kent General Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Vanecek.
Mrs. Rabe was a homemaker. She was a determined, loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. Her family was her world. In her spare time, she enjoyed putting puzzles together and collecting black bear figurines. She had a 6 foot carved wooden bear on her porch that she enjoyed decorating for each season.
She also enjoyed camping along with her late husband, John. For the past 47 years, they enjoyed traveling in their motor home. They managed to visit every state in the continental US, except Mississippi, and Louisiana.
Mrs. Rabe is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John H. Rabe.
She survived by her sons, John F. Rabe of Harrington, Robert J. Rabe of Jefferson Township, PA., Richard G. Rabe of Harrington, Mark W. Rabe of Oak Ridge, N.J.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington at 11AM, with a visitation, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Interment will take place at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
