Of Bear, DE, age 54, died July 13, 2011, in Christiana Hospital.
Alan was the son of the late Mary V. and Thomas D. Burns, Sr. Alan had been a resident of Chimes of Delaware since 1995. He was known as a gentle giant, who helped anyone that needed help. For a long time, he helped take care of his roommate, who was a paraplegic, and formed a close bond with him. Alan loved Christmas time and all the festive decorations and lights. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his brothers, Thomas D. Burns Jr. of Wilmington, Roger E. Burns of Harrington; sister, Mary Ann Bowers of Warner Robins, Georgia
Services will be held Wednesday, July 20, at 2 pm, in Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, New Castle, DE. Visitation, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
