William F. "Bill" Messick of Farmington, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, from his home, he was 84.
Along with his late wife, Bill took care of the family farm, named, Gray Dawn Acres, raising chickens and quarter horses. Bill enjoyed showing his quarter horses all over the country and brought many trophies home with him. At one time, he even owned a world champion mare. Bill also enjoyed raising Australian shepherd puppies. Bill will be remembered as always being on the move and a hard worker. He will be greatly missed.
Bill was a member of the Delaware Quarter Horse Association and one of the last living founding members, something he was very proud of. He was also proud for being recognized from the National Quarter Horse Association for raising and breeding quarter horses for over 50 years.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, M. Louise Messick. He is survived by countless close friends and acquaintances.
A visitation will be held at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, on Friday, January 18, from 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, January 19 at 11 AM. Interment will take place at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
