William Moore Obituary

William Roger Moore, Harrington, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 23, 2024, he was 74 years old.  Roger was born in Dover, DE, to the late, George Moore Sr. and Lucille Stubbs.

Roger was a mason by trade and owned and operated Roger Moore Masonry, a job that he loved doing.  He also briefly was a real estate agent at one time.  Roger worked on so many projects in the community and was well known by all, as his work was exceptional.  When he was not busy working, Roger loved to ride and show horses, something he passed along to his children, Emily and Kyle.  Another trait he passed on to them was his love of hunting.  If he was not participating in a horse show, he enjoyed watching them, and going to sales and auctions. The favorite thing in the world to Roger was his family.  He was always there for the kids sporting events or whatever they were into.  After they grew up, he enjoyed going out with his son Kyle to sing karaoke or participate in line dancing.  He enjoyed visiting his daughter Emily, in North Carolina and helping her with home improvements or projects.  He adored his two grand daughters, and loved being a pop pop.  He was also everyone's "favorite uncle", and a lot of people called him "Uncle Buddy, Uncle Roger, or Uncle Legend".

Roger was someone that everyone knew in town.  He knew so many people, as he did a lot of work for the community.  It never failed, no matter where he went, he knew someone.  He was always there helping anyone in need.  If you needed something, Roger was resourceful and could find what you needed, usually at a better cost.  If his kids or extended family were working on projects, Roger was right there lending a hand.  His presence will always be felt and he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his step father, Charles Nelson Stubbs.

Roger is survived by his children, Emily Moore, Kyle Moore, Cindy Herring; grandchildren, Aubrey Moore, Anna Moore; siblings, Nancy Breeding, George Marshall Moore Jr., Billy Stubbs, Linda Coverdale, Jane Rosser, Susan Ranalli, Kathy Reirden, Dean Moore, Janet Callaway.

A Funeral Service for Roger will be on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 1 PM, with a public visitation starting at 11 AM.  Interment will be at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, immediately after the service.
