Margaret Ann Truitt

Margaret Ann "Peggy" Truitt, FELTON, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, she was 77.  Peggy was born in Wilmington, DE to the late, Margaret and George Franklin Wilkinson Jr.

Peggy worked previously as a waitress for Friendly's Restaurant and also at Center City Deli.  She most recently worked and retired as a lunch lady for the Caesar Rodney School District, a job she loved immensely.

Peggy enjoyed being outdoors.  She loved to garden and truly was not happy unless her hands were dirty.  Even up to her last days, she enjoyed watching the birds and always enjoyed watching hummingbirds every year.  Dancing was a favorite activity as well as puzzles and playing cards. 

Peggy will be remembered as fun loving with a great sense of humor.  She liked to play practical jokes and play tricks on people, and liked to make people laugh.  Although outspoken at times, she was truly fun loving and was always there to lend a hand if needed.  She will be sadly missed by all the lives that she has touched.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Edward Wilkinson.

She is survived by her loving husband, William Coulbourne; daughter, Kathy Baughman (Fiance, Bill Fields); son, William Coulbourne Jr. (Stephanie); sisters, Marlene Lowman; Connie Gearhart (Ron); sister in law, Martha Wilkinson; grandsons, Bradley Baughman, Shane Coulbourne, Connor Coulbourne, Ryan Coulbourne; and her special friends who were like daughters to her, Alice Green, April Wickham; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service, will be on Wednesday April 24, 2024, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 1 PM.  A public visitation will be held starting at 12 Noon.  Please come casual as we celebrate such a special life.
