Betty Mintz

Betty Mintz, age 98, of Harrington, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from Milford Genesis.  She was born in Greensboro, MD to the late Elizabeth and Anton Spiering.

Mrs. Mintz worked many jobs in her lifetime, but her favorite occupation was being a daycare provider, which she done for many years.  She absolutely loved caring for children and always seemed to have a good set of kids to watch.  She always had a good story to tell.  Mrs. Mintz loved to play the piano and she loved to cook.  She will be sadly missed.

Mrs. Mintz was a faithful member of the Asbury United Methodist Church of Harrington.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence B. Kibler; second husband, Arthur Mintz; son, Lawrence A. Kibler, SR.; daughter, Patty Mintz; brothers, David, Donald, Glen and Gene C. Spiering; sisters, Cleo Johnson and Marguarite Brown.

She is survived by her sons, Tony (Rose) Kibler of Milford, Arthur (Michelle) Mintz of Felton; daughter, Sharon (Jack) Driscoll of Berlin, MD; brother, Anton W. "Buddy" Spiering; 10 grandchildren, 10 great and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 am.  A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service.   Interment will be private, at a later date, at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
