Sylvia Passwaters

Sylvia P. Passwaters, Houston, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, she was 86.  Sylvia was born in Wilmington, DE, to the late, William J. and Myrtle L. Payton.

Before she retired, Sylvia was a self employed poultry farmer.  She always managed to work hard on the farm but still have time for her family.  When she was not working hard on the farm, she enjoyed doing crafts, tending to her yard, and spending as much time as possible with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She will forever be missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edward Passwaters, brothers, Harry and Robert Payton.

She is survived by her children, Richard Passwaters, Paul Passwaters, Phyllis Waterman, Cindy Jester; siblings, Ronald Payton, James Payton, Jackie Payton, Bertha Trego, Goldie Rice, Wilhelmina Payton; special nephew, Skip Payton; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; and a close friend Joann Smith.

A Funeral Service for Sylvia, will take place on Monday, August 21, 2023, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 1 PM; with a public visitation held starting at 12 PM.  Interment will be at the Milford Community Cemetery.
