Scott A. Melvin

After courageously fighting cancer, Scott A. Melvin, 52 of Felton, passed away at Bayhealth Kent Campus on Sunday, November 12, 2023. He was the son of the late, Donnie Melvin.

Scott graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1989. He then entered the US Army. Following his time in the Army, Scott attended Delaware Tech. When Scott was younger he was actively involved in the Boy Scouts and proudly earned his Eagle Scout Award.  He was a member of the High Noon-Unity Mason Lodge 38 where he held the office of Senior Steward.

Scott enjoyed attending wrestling matches and getting his daily coffee from Dunkin. He loved his family dearly and had a small group of friends. He would do anything for his family and friends, including giving them his last dime if they needed it.

In addition to his father, Scott is preceded in death by his brother, Travis Melvin, Sr.

He is survived by his stepmother, Gayle Melvin; sister, Heather Jackson (Matt); niece, Mya Jackson; and nephew Travis Melvin, Jr.

Funeral Services celebrating Scott’s life will be held at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE, on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 12 noon. A public viewing will be held one hour prior at 11 AM. Interment will follow at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, DE.
