Rose Marie Bishop of Harrington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Christiana Hospital, she was 84. She was born in Harborton, VA to the late, William and A. Frances Bonniwell.
Mrs. Bishop worked at Diamond State Telephone Company until they were bought out, then went to work for Kent General Hospital for over 30 years, retiring as a switch board operator.
Mrs. Bishop's favorite hobbies included reading, watching game shows on television, listening to country music, and making crafts, whether it was sewing, or doing ceramics through the ceramic shop that her parents and sister owned. She loved her animals, especially her dogs, Inky and Molly. She had a sweet tooth and loved her sweets.
Mrs. Bishop was a hard worker, at one time raising her children, she worked three jobs to provide for them as a single mom. She did that out of love, and never complained. She would help anyone out in need and never expected anything in return. Even as she received care from her family in her later years, she made it a point to always thank them every night and did not want to burden them. She will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Bishop belonged to and enjoyed the activities of the Harrington Senior Center and the Frederica Senior Center. She especially enjoyed the trips that they provided, and playing bingo.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Ray Bonniwell, Robert A. Bonniwell, Patricia Ann Wroten; and grandson, Jason Collins.
