Phyllis A. Lofland

Phyllis A. Lofland, passed away at home surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, April 21, 2021, at the age of 69.  She was the daughter of Mildred Satterfield and the late Harold Satterfield.

Phyllis was a loving wife, a caring mother, and the best grandmother.  For most of her life, she worked as a CNA for multiple places.  Her favorite line was, “I love them old people.” And she truly did.  Prior to becoming a CNA, Phyllis worked on the family chicken farm and raised the children.  She could be seen at football, wrestling, and hockey games supporting her children and grandkids.  When she retired from CNA work, she enjoyed camping with her loving husband of 48 years in Virginia, reading books, playing on her iPad and playing games.  One of her favorite activities was going to the Harrington Slots.  She was loved by many and will be missed by all. 

In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her siblings, Pete Satterfield, Charles Satterfield, John Satterfield, James Satterfield, and Virginia Taylor.

Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Bruce Lofland; son, Donald Harrington Jr. (Caroline); daughters, Amy Cole (Randy), Beth Tice (Wayne Carson), and Maggie Thompson (Derek); grandchildren, Cody Cole, Zac Cole, Brooklyn Harrington, Angela Gibson, George Tice, Jr., Lisa Tice, Amber Tice, Cason Johnson, Leona Thompson, Parker Thompson, Josie Thompson; great grandchildren, Olivia Stapleford, Cameron Gibson, and Elliott Gibson; brothers, William Satterfield, Robert Satterfield; sister, Louise Smith and extended family.

Services for Mrs. Lofland will be Monday, April 26, 2021, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 1PM.  A visitation for family and friends will start at 12 PM.  Interment will take place at Hopkins Cemetery, Felton, immediately after the funeral.  We are adhering to the CDC and Delaware guidelines of occupancy limits, social distancing, and masks.
