Mary C McCloskey-Massey

Mary C. McCloskey-Massey, Felton, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the age of 99.  She was born in Bridgeville, DE to the late Charles and Catherine Massey.
 
Before her retirement, Mrs. Massey worked as a Nurses Aide for Beebe Hospital.  In addition to raising her family, she was also a farmer's wife who helped on the family farm.  For many years, she even worked the combines and helped with harvesting.  She was very knowledgeable about every aspect about farming.  When she was not hard at work, she did enjoy singing, and playing musical instruments including the guitar, banjo, mouth organ, and keyboard. 
 
Mrs. Massey was a strong willed person, who was not afraid to tell you like it was.  However, she had a heart of gold, and was a devoted and loving mother who took great care of her family.  Her presence will forever be felt and she will be greatly missed.
 
Mrs. Massey was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge, and the Frederica Senior Center.  The family would like to thank their wonderful neighbors for all their help and care during this time. 
 
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Eva Warren, Frank Massey, Louis Massey, Charles Massey, and Francis Prittchett. 
 
She is survived by her children; Josephine Gillespie, Ronald McCloskey, Richard McCloskey, John McCloskey, Robert McCloskey; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 
Funeral services and burial for Mrs. Massey will be private.
