Mae Thornton

Mae E. Thornton, of Harrington, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, at the age of 78.  She was the daughter of the late Orville and Effie Cardwell.

Mae did clerical work before she retired.  She was a member of the Moose Lodge, Crab Alley Fishing Lodge, and the Baltimore County Game & Fish.  Mae was known more for socializing than fishing, but she did enjoy the view of the water while her husband fished.

Mae was a beautiful woman who loved everyone especially her family.  She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mae was always happy and outgoing.  She enjoyed playing bingo and cards.

Mae is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Nelson Thornton; daughters, Brenda Lamko (Christopher) and Debbie Lee; grandchildren, April M. Lee, Christine M. Krambeck, Gage Lamka; great grandchildren, Adrain and Bryce Zaragosa, Jeramy and Lilianna Krambeck, and Kyden Scull as well as all who knew her.

Due to the recommendations by the CDC and the State of Delaware concerning gatherings, Mae’s memorial will be held privately at a later date.  Condolences are encouraged to be sent to www.melvinfuneralhome.com.
