Obituary

Lois A. Hawkins, Magnolia, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 30, 2023, from the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, she was 86.  She was born in Colorado Springs, CO to the late, James M. and Viola G. Knight. 

Mrs. Hawkins worked various jobs over the years, but was mainly a homemaker who stayed home to raise her children.  Some of her favorite activities included crossword puzzles, watching game shows, reading, and going to the beach.  She loved to stay in touch with her siblings, and enjoyed writing to her sisters, and visiting family in Colorado Springs.  When she needed to get out of the house, she enjoyed going to the casino occasionally with her son, James Sr..  She oftentimes could be found on her computer, phone, or Gameboy playing electronic games.   In her younger years, she was a member of the Milford Elks.

Mrs. Hawkins will be remembered as a very loving and giving person who cared for you even if you done her wrong.  She gave of herself to anyone that needed her, especially to her grandchildren.  She never judged you or the situation you were in, but was always there with a listening ear and her words of advice or encouragement.  She will be sadly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Hawkins Sr., daughters, Peggy and Nancy Beach, siblings, Donald Knight, James Knight, Gerald Knight, Orvalle Knight, Nancy Bartlett, Roger Knight, Barbara Williams, Dwight Knight, and Betty McConnell.

She is survived by her sons, Leroy Francis Beach, William Albert Beach Jr., James Robert Beach Sr., David Lewis Beach, Robert Francis Hawkins Jr., brother, Robert Knight;  13 grandchildren, over 20 great grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Hawkins will be private and at the convenience of the family.
