Kenneth “Kenny” M. Sellers, 68, of Harrington, DE passed away at Bayhealth Kent Campus on Friday, August 4, 2023. He was the son of Jean Sellers and the late Elwood Sellers.
Kenny graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1972 and was the proud drum major of the marching band for three years. He then served a 4-year apprenticeship and became a Plumber/Pipefitter for 44 years. He belonged to the National UA, and UA Local 782, which later became UA Local 486, at one point serving as the business manager. Kenny also had the unique privilege of working alongside his father at the beginning of his career.
In his spare time, Kenny enjoyed fishing, camping, travel, golf, feeding the birds, gardening, watching Philadelphia Eagles football, the Waltons, and hanging out in his “Pro Shop” man cave. Kenny thoroughly enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially liked to stargaze and track the planets when they were visible. He had taken up playing the guitar and enjoyed cooking. He made the best macaroni & cheese and pretzel salad.
While he could be ornery, Kenny was a selfless, caring person. He helped a lot of people through a lot of things without expecting anything in return. He was always willing to listen and gave good advice. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his father, Kenny is preceded in death by his son, Chris Burris, and brother-in-law, Thomas Paich.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Sellers; daughter, Jennifer Zeller (Dan); son, Andrew Burris; mother, Jean Sellers; brother, Kevin Sellers; sisters, Gail Paich, Kelly Wutka (Tom); his dog, Bentley; and several extended family members.
