Kathleen M. Allen

Kathleen M. Allen of Harrington passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Bayhealth-Sussex Campus.  She was 64 years of age. Kathy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a daughter of the late, Charles and Marie Touzell.

Kathy spent most of her professional career in the banking industry. Her experience included working for Equitable Bank, J.C. Penney National Bank, and Bank of America where she worked in the collections department. Mrs. Allen ended her professional career working as a secretary in the Aerial Port building at Dover Air Force Base. 

When she was not busy spoiling her grandchildren and participating in their activities, Kathy enjoyed camping, traveling, and taking walks with her husband.  Some of her favorite places to visit included the Outer Banks, Lancaster, and Gettysburg.   

Kathy was a member of Calvary Wesleyan Church in Harrington.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Harvey Allen; her children, Stephanie Allen, Patrick Allen (Rebecca), Andrew Calvello (Rebecca), Jason Calvello (Mandy), Justin Allen (Elizabeth); her sister, Cheryl Treglown (Richard); brother, Steven Touzell (Scott); twelve grandchildren, Becky Benavidas, Brittany Allen, Brianna Allen, Ashlyn Calvello, Zachary Calvello, Brooke Calvello, Rylie Calvello, Daniel Allen, Noah Calvello, James Allen, Meredith Allen, and the late Tyler Benner; along with four great grandchildren, Avery Benner-Konz, Curtis Allen, Maverick McGreck, and one on the way.

A Memorial Service for Kathy will be held on Saturday, September 18th, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 11 AM, with a visitation for family and friends starting at 10 AM.     

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
