John K. Griffith

John K. Griffith, Harrington, passed away after a brief illness at the Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, on Sunday, November 5, 2023, he was 65.  John was born in Wilmington, DE to the late, Aubrey C. and Christine E. Griffith.

John retired from the James Thompson Company of Greenwood, as a machine operator, with over 42 years of employment.  When he was not hard at work, John liked to go tent camping.  He also enjoyed travelling, and especially enjoyed visiting Georgia.  It was never uncommon for John to just hop in his car and take off for a mini adventure.  John also enjoyed eating out for dinner, and going to the beach.

John will be remembered as a friendly and loving person.  He loved to socialize and could make friends easily.  He was always encouraging and proud of his family.  He enjoyed spending time with family as much as possible, and loved spending time with his dog, "Little John" and his birds.  He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Keitha Ann Griffith.

He is survived by his brother, William Griffith and fiance, Christy; sister-n-law, Bonnie Griffith; nieces, Jessica Marie Atkins, Stephanie Lynn Griffith, Jennifer Christine. Hunley; nephews, Brandon Lee Hunley, James Michael Hunley; great nieces, Lyssa Marie Atkins, Crystal Dawn Layfield.

A visitation for John will be on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, between 5 and 6 PM.  Interment will be held at a later date at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
