James Richardson Sr., HARRINGTON, passed away peacefully of natural causes, in his home on Saturday, May 2, 2020, he was 77. Mr. Richardson was born in Centreville, MD to the late, Joseph and Gertrude (Ewing) Richardson.
James was known for his hard work ethic as both a bricklayer and farmer but his real passion was to serve his Savior in ministry; as a street preacher, he brought the gospel to all who heard him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel Luke Richardson; brothers, Joseph E. Richardson and Robert Richardson.
James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Violet Richardson; son, James E. Richardson Jr. (Vicki) of Harrington; daughter, Dina Manaraze (Robert Jr.) of Cecilton, MD; two sisters, Joanne R. Clothier of Chestertown, MD, and Norma J. Fishpaw of Ewington, VA. James will also be missed by his nine grandchildren, Sarah E. Richardson and Christian Richardson of Harrington, DE, and Rebecca L. Richardson of Farmington, DE, and Abigail J. Dyer (Chris Dyer), Josiah J. Richardson and Bethany Richardson of Georgetown, DE, and Ryan A. Manaraze and Julia Manaraze of Cecilton, MD, and Ross Manaraze of Harrington, DE; and great grandchildren Angel Burris of Harrington, DE, Arianna Frost of Farmington, DE, Wade Hastings, Emma Dyer, and Danilynn of Georgetown, DE. who gave him great joy.
Due to the recommendations imposed by the CDC and the State of Delaware concerning gatherings, services for Mr. Richardson will be private and by the immediate family only. He will be laid to rest on the family farm.
