Evelyn Cornelson Obituary

Evelyn Cornelson, Milford, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at the Genesis - Milford Center, she was 88.  Mrs. Cornelson was born in Kansas to the late Glen and Mildred Hamby.

 

Mrs. Cornelson worked as a bank teller and loan officer.  Her favorite activities included crotcheting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and bingo.  She was quite the seamstress making her own clothes as well as items for her nieces and nephews.  There was no other greater bowler then Mrs. Cornelson, on the Nintendo Wii, another favorite activity of hers. 

 

Mrs. Cornelson was a former member of the Grace Baptist Church in Albuquergue, New Mexico, where she was an organist.  She was also a former member of the Homemakers Extension Club.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Joe Cornelson; and sisters, Dorothy Mae Hamby, and Juanita Jewell (Hamby) Cross.

 

She is survived by a niece, Karen (Bryan) Ward; nephew, Bryan Cross; great nephew, Dan Ward; great niece, Susan (Tony) Williams; great great nieces, Genesis Williams, Alexis Ward, Ahbry-Elle Williams, Avenly Williams.

 

Due to the recommendations by the CDC and the State of Delaware concerning gatherings, the family will be holding a private gathering at their discretion.  Condolences are encouraged to be sent to www.melvinfuneralhome.com, which can be viewed by the family.
