Elinor J. Bawek

Elinor Jane Bawek, Milford, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023, she was 83.  She was born in Dover, DE, to the late Clarence W. and Emma Jane Powell.

Mrs. Bawek worked at the Dover SPCA as the "Puppy Lady" for over 25 years.  She took care of all the puppies and loved her job very much.  Her love for animals was ever present, no matter where she lived, she tended to find a job at the local SPCA.  She was also a food pantry volunteer.

Mrs. Bawek was a great painter, and she loved to garden.  Her chicken and dumplings were the best in the world, and everyone filled up when she made them.  She always focused on her family, and kept family and God as her focus in life.  She will be remembered as a perfect wife, best mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Her presence will live on and she will forever be missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Bawek Sr.; grandson, Russell (George) Benton; and great grandson, "Little George" Benton.

She is survived by sons, Ronald R. Bawek Jr. (Cynthia), Damon P. Bawek; daughter, Theresa Weidman (Paul); sisters, Marjorie Stovall, Betty Louise Doering; 8 grandchildren, Kenny, Angela, Katrina, Frances, Rhiannon, Jessop, Jared, Evan; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren, and extended family members. 

Services for Mrs. Bawek will be private and at the family's discretion.
