Dorothy Pickert

Dorothy Pickert, of Felton, passed away at Bayhealth Kent General, on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the age of 83.  She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Emma Duffy.

Dorothy spent most of her life working in various banks and casinos in payroll accounting.

Dorothy was a pleasant, sweet woman who loved the home shopping and QVC channels.  In her younger years, she was a great cook and still enjoyed watching cooking shows and collecting cookbooks.  More recently, Dorothy enjoyed eating out with Rudy’s Restaurant being her favorite place to go.  She was a very talented artist and enjoyed oil painting.  Dorothy will be deeply loved and dearly missed by her family.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, E. A. “Gus” Pickert.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Charlie Shearer; daughter, Donna Andrews; grandchildren, Christa Shearer, Chaz Shearer, Tyler Andrews, Lauren Andrews, Conner Andrews, and Bradley Andrews;  2 great grandchildren, Sophie Shearer and Jayce Slater.

Due to the recommendations imposed by the CDC and the State of Delaware concerning gatherings, services for Dorothy will be held privately at a later date.   Condolences are encouraged to be sent via www.melvinfuneralhome.com.
