Dorothy Kauffman Obituary

Dorothy Kauffman, of Harrington, passed away at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at the age of 72.  She was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Breinig.

Dorothy worked as a secretary in Baltimore for many years.  She was very active with the VFW Aullixary, Star Spangled Banner Post #10078, where at one point she served as treasurer.  Dorothy was also a member of the American Legion CKRT  Post 7.

Dorothy had an independent, old school way of thinking; she was proper, firm but fair and loving.  Dorothy often thought of others first, remembering birthdays, sending cards, and helping those in need.  She enjoyed sewing, crafting, cooking, baking, shopping, and couponing.  Dorothy loved her animals, especially her cats, and her life more recently revolved around her grandchildren as she would do anything for them.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Paul Kauffman; step-children, Letisha Stoltzfus, Paul Kauffman, Jr., Bryan Kauffman, and Nicolina Turner; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and sisters, Beth and Carol.

Dorothy was a private person who did not want a fuss made over her, so her family will hold services privately at a later date.
