Donald F McHugh

Donald F. McHugh, 74, of Harrington, Delaware passed away at Bayhealth Hospital-Kent Campus on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

Donald retired as a sketch artist with the Delaware State Police in 1994. Following that, he served as the transportation supervisor for Milford School District for five years. He was a member of the Delaware State Troopers Association and attended the Bethany Church of the Brethern. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed studying history, particularly military history, and even restored a few military vehicles in his younger years. He enjoyed storytelling and writing stories, collecting model trains, antiquing, attending auctions, yard sales, and bird watching.

Donald was loving, kind, and caring. He was generous with his time, and especially cherished time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Don and Patricia Zuck, Donald is preceded in death by his siblings, Paul McHugh, Nancy Baker, Patricia Zuck, Kaye McHugh, Rick Zuck, and Brian Zuck.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane McHugh, son, Donny McHugh, daughter, Tammy (Jon) Geidel, grandchildren, Garrett and Brenna Geidel, and sister, Sherry Tolman.

A service celebrating Donald’s life will be held at 11:00 on Monday morning, August 7, 2023 at Bethany Church of the Brethern, 91 School St., Farmington, Delaware 19950. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethany Church of the Brethren, 91 School St., Farmington, DE 19950.
