Donald L. Draper Sr.

Donald L. Draper, Sr., Houston, passed away at home on Sunday, June 25, 2023, with his wife of nearly 45 years at his side, he was 75.  He was born in Milford, DE to the late, George W. "Stump" and Iona Watkins Draper.

Donald loved people and could make friends anywhere.  He worked on a farm for a while then to Townsend Brothers and Hammond Cadillac in the body shops before opening his own shop, D & D Services, Inc in 1979, servicing both cars and big trucks.  He retired in 2012 due to illness and greatly missed his dear customers.

Donald was a past member of the Harrington Moose Lodge and the Andrewsville Ruritan Club. 

He is survived by his wife, Doris Wechtenhiser Draper; daughter and grandson, Jackie Draper and Dylan Draper of Texas; brother and sister in law, Alan and Anna Draper of Harrington; special friends, Terry and Sherri Saville of Houston.

The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice and especially nurses Kim and Erin for their care and support.

A funeral service will be on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 11 AM, with a visitation starting at 10 AM.  Interment will be at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.  Family requests to please dress casually, as Donald was not a fancy person.
