David V. Butler, Harrington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, he was 69. David was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to the late, John R. and June V. Butler Sr.
David worked for Burris Foods for over 27 years as a forklift driver, then worked for Kraft Foods where he worked on machines for 7 years until he retired.
David enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and enjoyed being part of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He also enjoyed camping and enjoyed going over to Chincoteague to see the Pony Swim. Baltimore Ravens was his favorite team, and in years past, David enjoyed watching NASCAR. He also enjoyed tinkering, especially with cars. David enjoyed going to and participating with the Calvary Wesleyan Church of Harrington.
David could be stubborn at times, and took his time with everything that he did and never rushed, but he loved his family dearly and wholeheartedly. He will be missed.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Butler, and daughter, Tammy Butler.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Libby Butler, siblings, Teresa Mayfield, John R. "Bob" (Peggy) Butler, Jr., Debbie (Clarence) Bayless; grandchildren, McKenzie Butler, Bethany Butler, Ezra Butler, Allison Jones, Rebecca Lee.
Services for David will be, Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 11 am. A visitation for family and friends will start at 10AM. Interment will take place at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Melvin Funeral Home" to help defray funeral expenses.
