Daniel Pawlowski Obituary

Daniel T. Pawlowski, 86passed through his life on August 11, 2022. Dan was born in Maryland. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, later in the U.S. Navy then later again in the U.S. Army as a Special Forces Green Beret Staff Sergeant, Como. NCO. After receiving three Honorable Military Discharges, Dan joined the Bendix Field Engineering Corp. which later merged with the Allied Signal Corp. later merging with the Honeywell Corporation. Dan was an Amateur Radio Operator known as WA3QGO, and a Docent at The Dover Air Force Base for many years. He was a life member of the DAV and a life member of the American Legion post 007 in Harrington, Delaware.

Dan was a Renaissance man leading him to an assignment at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center where he worked for over 25 years. It was later discovered that during his earlier military service a medical condition resulted in the VA awarding him a 100% disability. That condition resulted in his demise. Dan received a Military Funeral Honors Ceremony held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del. To his military brothers and sisters, he states, “De Oppresso Liber” and “Anchors Aweigh”. More important than being a United States solider /seaman and helping to send the Hubble Telescope into space.  Dan was a father and husband, his family was a priority, he was a leader and a role model. He was always dependable and available when we needed advice and when we needed encouragement.  Dad always wanted us to know we could do or be anything we put our minds to.  His legacy and values will continue to live on within us, his children, our children and theirs.

Dan is predeceased by his son, David Pawlowski.

Dan leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years Frances; four children, Michael Pawlowski, Cynthia D’Agostino, Leslie Cardullo (Nicholas), and Stephanie Hyde; eight grandchildren, Danielle Hoover, Katelynn Boyer, Rachel Shelton, Benjamin Meyers, Nicholas (Little Guy) Howarth, Dalton Calimer, Robert D'Agostino (Dec), Matthew Pawlowski and four great- grandchildren, Caden Baker, Micah Shelton, Maverick Boyer, and Myah Shelton.
