Dallas Hayman Obituary

Dallas Hayman, of Houston, passed away after a brief stay in Hospice, on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the age of 82. He was the son of the late Thurman and Bernice Hayman.

Dallas was the owner of Hayman Associates where he was an insurance agent for over 50 years. He also worked for DuPont’s for 15 years as a supervisor and drove school buses. His love of harness racing led him to own two horses Soggy Soggy and We Salute.

He was a life time member of the Harrington Moose Lodge #534 and was the oldest serving member of the lodge with 61 years of service and earned the Pilgrim Degree of Merit. He also served as Governor of the Harrington Lodge, Moose District President, Moose Legion President, Deputy Supreme Governor of Maryland-Delaware Moose Association, Moose Legion Area Manager and was a member of the Ritual Team. He also held membership in the Milford Moose Lodge, the New Castle Moose Lodge, and the American Legion CKRT Post 7 in Harrington. He was the first person to receive the Life Time Achievement Award for the Maryland-Delaware-DC Moose Association.

Dallas was also a professional bowler from 1963-1983, he won the Hawaiian Open in 1966, had 13 “300” perfect scores, along with 19 television appearances over the years through his bowling career. He was an avid professional shuffleboard player and was a charter member. He enjoyed softball, playing golf and traveling with his wife in their motorhome.

In addition to his parents, Dallas is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Hayman.

Dallas is survived by his daughter, Monica LeBlanc; brothers, Jerry Hayman, Sr. and Sheldon (Betty) Hayman; sister, Sandra Foy; grandchildren, Raven and Sterling LeBlanc; and many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Dallas’ life will be on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 1 PM with a visitation for family and friends two hours prior at 11AM. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington DE.

Donations in Dallas’s name can be made to Country Rest Home, Greenwood, DE, Delaware Hospice in Milford, DE, the various Moose Lodges where he was a member or Moose International.
