Charles "Buddy" R. Reed Sr., Felton, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2021, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, he was 87. Buddy was born in Harrington, DE to the late, Whitely T. and Louise E. Reed.
Buddy worked for Playtex for 17 years and then for Lowes for 17 years before retiring in 1987. He also parked campers for the family until he worked for Dover Downs between 1999 and 2015 parking RV's in Parking Lot 2 for all their NASCAR events.
In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his garden and growing vegetables, until his health declined in 2018. He always had enough to feed the neighborhood and family. Buddy loved his animals and always had animals to care for like his ponies, sheep, and goats. Buddy also loved to hunt, whether it was deer, rabbit, and especially raccoon. He loved to take family members with him hunting, and could recall countless hunting excursions. He was instrumental in starting the charter of the Felton Little League on April 21, 1968, and celebrated the 53rd anniversary this year. Buddy always had a smile on his face, a joke or prank to dole out, and his sense of humor and love of his family will be forever remembered and missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Connie A. Reed.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred L. Reed; children, Charles R. Reed Jr. (Ronda Everett), Cynthia R. Evans (Parry), Curtis W.
