Barbara Jacobs

Barbara Jacobs, 83, of Felton, passed away at home surrounded by her family, on Friday, July 2, 2021.  She was the daughter of the late Howard and Blanche Hoffman.

Barbara was an X-ray tech for many years.  She later became a para-professional for 25 years at Lake Forest North, where she loved teaching the students.  She was a member of the Felton United Methodist Church, and attended Manship Chapel.  Barbara was a lifetime member of the Felton Fire Company Ladies Auxillary and the Avon Club of Felton.

Barbara was a friendly, caring person who loved to selflessly take care of other people.  All she ever wanted to be was a good Mom and a good wife.  She was often heard saying, “Family’s the only thing you have”.  Barbara enjoyed reading, cooking, crafts, and spending time with family and friends.  Although she was one of the nicest people, Barbara had an ornery side to her.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her son, Keith Jacobs; two brothers, Howard and Kevin Hoffman.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald Jacobs; children, Denise Brown (Ronnie), Craig Jacobs (Beth), Dawn Fleming (Roger), and Diane Kemp (Mike); multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 12 PM.  A visitation for family and friends will start at 11 AM.
