Wilfred "Bill" J. Carpenter

Wilfred J. “Bill” Carpenter, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from the Bayhealth-Sussex Campus, he was 80. Bill was born in Statehill, PA, to the late Edward and Caroline Carpenter.

Bill had many jobs over the years, but he retired as a supervisor for the Sea Watch in Milford. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked to stay active in his church, first with the Harrington Baptist Church, and also with the Greensboro Baptist Church, where he enjoyed being in the ministry with Sunday School and the nursery. The Philadelphia Phillies was his favorite baseball team and he went to the stadium to watch games whenever he could. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and close friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, David and Larry Carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Carpenter; god daughters, Candis Glass, Tonya Jones; sisters, Janice Stricker, and Bertha Houck.

Services will be private and at a later date.
