Lois J Woodward

Lois J. Woodward, 90 of Felton, passed away on February 16, 2026 at Bayhealth Kent Campus. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Lou Wynkoop.

Lois was a retired teacher of 32 years, retiring in 2001. She taught first grade at Lake Forest School District and adult education at Kent Vocational Technical School. Lois started her career as a substitute teacher in the 1960s prior to full time teaching. She also worked in the Instructional Resource Center from 2002-2018. Lois was a member of the National Education Association, and Delaware State Education Association. She attended the Felton United Methodist Church in Felton.

When she wasn’t teaching, Lois enjoyed reading, coloring books for adults, a bit of gardening, and recreational swimming. She also enjoyed collecting angels, and being on the computer. Lois’ greatest memories include traveling to England and Scotland, Hawaii, Arizona, California, and Canada as well as raising her family and first grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Woodward and grandson, Brandon Woodward.

Lois is survived by her sons, Terry Woodward (Diana), Rick Woodward (Kathy), Kelly Woodward (June), and Scott Woodward (Maria); 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a brother, Roger Wynkoop.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
