John R. Schmucker

John R. Schmucker, Lincoln, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, after a lengthy illness. He was 83. Mr. Schmucker attended Wyomissing High School and Staunton Military Academy, Staunton, VA, Class of 1961.

John last worked as Head Warehouseman for 21 years at the Claridge Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. He was a hard worker and always put forth his all in whatever he did.

Mr. Schmucker enjoyed boating, fishing, and working on classic cars. Travelling with his wife was also an adventure waiting to happen and they enjoyed going in their RV all over the East Coast and spending wintertime in Florida. He especially liked going to State Fairs in Pennsylvania and spending time in Dutch Country, always sampling the Dutch cuisine. Sightseeing and meeting people were things he looked forward to as he loved talking to and meeting people, swapping stories and getting to know them. He will be sadly missed.

Mr. Schmucker was born in Stouchburg, PA to the late Robert F and Eleftheria "Lefty" Schmucker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Schmucker, and sister, Cynthia Murphy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, June (Errickson) Schmucker; sister, Georgia Nuss; niece, Tracey Savage and her husband Tracy Brumbach; nephew, Thomas "TJ" Kalin and wife Diane, sister-in-law, Rosemary Kalin and numerous extended family,

Services will be arranged at a later date and take place at the Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading, PA.
