Deneen Louise Smith-Roe

Deneen Smith-Roe of Milford, received her wings on July 28, 2026, at the Houston VA Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was 62 years old.

Deneen was a devoted wife and best friend, a loving mother and grandmother, and a cherished sister. She was kind, gracious, and strong, and she gave freely to those in need with an open heart.

From a young age, Deneen was determined to build a meaningful life. After earning her high school diploma, she continued her education and ultimately received her master’s degree. She went on to work as a mental health therapist, dedicating her career to helping and supporting others. Her compassion and generosity were reflected in both her professional work and the way she cared for her family and community.

Deneen married Tim Roe in 2011, and they shared 15 wonderful years together.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Roe; her children, Cory Smith, Chantel Smith, Chanetta Smith, and John Luke; her grandchildren, Malaysia Smith-Ellis, Makai Smith, Frank Lovett, Cherrywood Reid, Zoey Smith, and Zion Smith; and her siblings, Cynthia Smith-Stevens, Merlin Smith, and Connie Lee, along with their families.

Deneen was truly a gift from God. She will be deeply missed and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE. A visitation will take place one-hour prior beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, DE.
