Cindy L. Bolin, Farmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones she loved, on Sunday, July 19th, at her home in Farmington, she was 69. Cindy was born in Milford, DE to the late Esther and Leon Rust Sr.

Cindy wore many hats over her lifetime, she worked for ADT Security, ILC, Teen Challenge Thrift Store, Fitzgerald Auto Salvage, Kirby and Holloway, stay-at-home mom, and most recently she was Mayor of Farmington, a job she loved tremendously. Prior to serving as mayor, she was the vice mayor for the town. As the first female mayor of Farmington, she accomplished quite a lot for her community which she was very proud to be a part of and considered it an honor to have served. She always felt that Farmington deserved thoughtful leadership, responsible stewardship, and a vision for its future, something that she most definitely provided.

Cindy enjoyed many activities outside of work. She loved being out on the water whether boating or fishing, gardening and growing her own herbs, spending time in nature and watching the birds and the squirrels, buying and selling things, finding antiques and vintage items, square dancing, and more importantly, spending time with family.

Cindy can be described as a private person, but one who liked things done right, she did not believe in cutting corners. She was a great researcher and organizer, traits that helped her in her role as mayor, and when she believed in something, especially if it was for the benefit of others, she stuck to her guns and would not budge. She was a driving force within her family and community, once she set her mind to something, it WILL get done. She never shied away from expressing her true feelings and emotions. Cindy’s zest for life and her caring nature will forever be missed by her friends and community. She believed in the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ as the son of God, and she loved Him and knew that He had her in His arms until the very end.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Leon Rust Jr., Jefferson Rust Sr., Rick Rust Sr.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, John Bolin; sons, Dennis Edge, Eric Edge (Renee); siblings, David Rust, Sharon Dawson, Randall Rust, Patricia Mast; grandchildren, Dustin Edge, Dennis Edge Jr., Colton Edge, Korey Edge, Erin Chisenhall; 1 great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
