Beatrice L Wright

Beatrice L. Wright, of Laurel, passed away on February 4, 2026 at her home, at the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Grace Lyons.

Beatrice was a hard worker, with a strong work ethic, she rarely missed work. She worked 25 years for the First National Bank of Harrington prior to them becoming JC Penney bank. Beatrice retired from the Sussex County Finance Department after 17 years and 6 months. She was a lifetime member of the Laurel Lioness Club.

In her retirement, Beatrice loved to spend time with her family and grandkids. She was an independent woman who enjoyed being home but also traveling to see her grandkids. Beatrice was a lover of cats, and she collected Longaberger Baskets, American Fostoria glassware, and small bells.

In addition to her parents, Beatrice is preceded in death by her brothers, William and James Lyons.

Beatrice is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Wallace Eugene Wright; daughters, Karen Chaffinch (Aaron), Cheryl Wood; son, Anderson Wright (Victoria); grandchildren, Christopher Chaffinch (Ginger), Amber Brown, Abby Knotts, Peyton Knotts, Wyatt Wright, Giuseppe and AnaMaria Impastato; great grandchildren, Colt, Torianna, Kennedy, Caleb, Little Giuseppe, Phillip, JoAnna and Ellianna; brother, Eugene Lyons; and extended family.

A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 1PM, with a visitation starting at 11 AM, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE. Interment will private.
