Alice B. Braddock

Alice B. Braddock, Harrington, passed away peacefully surrounded by the family she loved dearly, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, she was 81. She was born in Boothwyn, PA to the late Harry P. and Thelma M. Cheyney.

Mrs. Braddock was a homemaker who made it her mission in life to take care of her family. She was well known for her cooking and enjoyed preparing meals and hosting family get-togethers. Everyone looked forward to her chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses, watching the Philadelphia Eagles play, listening to the “old stuff” of country music, and going to the casino with her daughter. She also enjoyed taking care of her cats, and especially loved spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Braddock will be fondly remembered as a loving, caring, and supportive person who was always there when you needed her. She was truly a loving Wife, Mom, Mom-Mom, and Mema, and will most definitely be missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, John H. Braddock, children, Robin Braddock, Cyndi Thompson, John Braddock III (Mari); brother, John Cheyney; grandchildren, Alisha Zook (James Hurd), Samuel Zook (Juliana Banks), Lillibelle Braddock-Ortiz, Maya Braddock, Emily Braddock, Jonathon Braddock, Kiersten Braddock; great grandchildren, Cameron Osaba, Natalee Hurd, Bryson Zook, Bennett Zook, several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026, between 3PM and 4PM at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S, DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE.
