Robert "Bob" Lee Parson

Robert Lee "Bob" Parson, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from the Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, he was 52.  Bob was born in Lebanon, PA to his parents, Richard B. and Sandra L. Parson.

Bob worked as a full time dispatcher for the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center, as well as an EMT.  He was also a part time driver for the Delmarva Transportation Co.   At one time, he was also a former dispatcher for the Milford Police Department. 

It is truly hard to sum up a life such as Bob's, but he was indeed a public servant.  Throughout his career and life, Bob was always there helping others.  He had a big heart, and was truly caring.  He cared about his family, his fiancé, his fire company and emergency services families, and even for his Labrador dogs.  Bob loved to raise Labradors, and fostered many animals through Grass Roots Rescue.  When Bob was not busy working, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his fiancé Tammy.  No matter where he went, he always ran into someone he knew, because Bob loved to talk and made lots of friends.  Bob truly loved his family, and his protective and caring nature will forever be missed.

Bob was a member and past Chief of the Memorial Fire Company Station 89 of Slaughter Beach.  He was also a current member of the Harrington Fire Company.  His love of motorcycle riding led him to be an active member of the Delaware Law Dogs, Delaware Red Knights Chapter 1, and First State Hog.  He was also a past member of the Carlisle Fire Co. in Milford and the Milton Fire Co.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Cory (Sarah) Parson; a daughter, Makayla parson; sister, Sherri Parson, and his fiancé, Tammy Riggins.

A Memorial Service will take place at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South Dupont Hwy., Harrington on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 5 pm with a visitation for family and friends starting at 3pm.
