Robert Porter Obituary

Robert “Bob” Porter, Lincoln, passed away at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood, at the age of 85.  He was the son of the late Lubie and Alma Sue Porter.

Bob proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War.  His love of his country led him to join the Maryland police force being Chief of Police of Takoma Park for 23 years.

Bob was an intelligent, incredible man.  He was known to always encourage others, enjoyed laughing and making others laugh.  Bob was an avid reader and a Marvel Comic fan, he especially like Batman and Superman.  Bob loved running so much; he started, the still operational, the Grove Park Running Club 25 years ago.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded by his loving wife, Pauline and their sons, Michael and Bobby Porter.

Bob is survived by his daughters: Melanie Shirey and Debra Porter; grandchildren: Zachary, Randy, Noah, Isaac, Gabriella, Hannah, Faith, Chloe, Elijah, Jessica and Arlene; great grandchildren: Madison and Keagan; and all who knew him.
