Richard W. Brann, Sr.

Richard William Brann, Sr. passed away suddenly, at his home, on Saturday, July 15, 2017, he was 52.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Whitney and Herbert Brann.

Richard was married on May 17, 1986 to his devoted wife, Julie A. Brann.  He is survived by his wife and two sons, his pride and joy, Andrew W. and Richard Jr. and his brothers, Vincent, Robert, Thomas, Raymond and Joseph.

Richard worked at Sea Watch International, in Milford DE, for over 30 years, until health issues forced him to retire. Richard enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger, only new friends. He was the kind of friend you called first, when you needed a helping hand. He was always willing to help, giving to others, under any circumstances. Richard loved to work with his hands and always said, if he could take it apart, he could fix it. He loved being outdoors, farming and gardening. A true animal lover, he never met a stray that was not soon a pet.

Above all else, Richard loved his family. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family deeply and generously.  Richard’s sons, Andrew and Junior, lit up his life and were his pride and joy. He would do anything, go anywhere, go to any lengths for them.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S. Dupont Hwy, Harrington, DE.
