Major Jack L. Hodges, USAF, Retired, of Frederica, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 after a brief illness at the age of 84.  He was the son of the late, Lawrence and Kate Hodges of Kingsport, TN.


Jack was a career Air Force pilot serving in Korea and Vietnam.


Jack was an avid fisherman, hunter, and "story teller".


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the love of his life Hazel Curtis, and sister, Janette Coates.


Jack is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Sanders, nephews and nieces, Andy (Stephanie) Sanders, Sam Sanders, Teresa (Phillip) Coates Powell, Sherri Coates Lea,  Mark (Dorinda) Coates; stepchildren, Phillis C. (Ronald) Link, William A. Curtis, Robert (Ann) Curtis; grandchildren, Karla Link (Roger) Roberts, R. Van (Betty) Link; great grand daughter, Savannah Roberts; "blood brother", Jimmy Tibbetts Sr.


He also leaves behind his closest friends, Allen Quillen, Gary Baker, Karen Butler, Keith Lloyd, John Lloyd, Mario Dobriat, Bob Sneyder, Eugene Walls, Buster Rust, Frank and Mary Gallo, Mike Jones, Crystal Watson, Sammy Tibbetts, Jimmy Tibbetts Jr., and Teresa Lewis.


A Funeral Service will take place at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 5 pm. A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service.   To honor Major Jack, casual attire is encouraged.  Interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
