M. Louise Wix

November 14, 2017

M. Louise Wix, of Farmington, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at her daughters home surrounded by family, she was 72.  Louise was born in Christiana, DE to the late, Robert H. Vincent Sr., and Laura M. Vincent Davis.

Louise was a homemaker and stay at home mom.  When she was not taking care of her family, she was helping out with her second family at the Farmington Volunteer Fire Co.  Louise was the first female volunteer fire fighter for the station.  She was instrumental in starting the ladies auxiliary, and served in every capacity of the auxiliary, except Treasurer, and was the Past President.  Louise was also active with the DVFA (Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association) and was presently serving as one of their delegates.  She truly loved her family and loved her second family at the station.

Louise was very proud of being a National Champion Roller Skater at the age of 15.  She loved bowling and for over 28 years bowled on various leagues.  She also played cards weekly with a group of friends and family.  Louise was well known for telling it like it is.  Whatever she did in life she did it with a heart full of passion and determination.  Her loving, spunky, and humorous attitude will forever be missed.

In addition to the Farmington Fire Company, Louise was a member of the Farmington Brethren Church, and an active member of the Harrington Moose Lodge #534.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger J. Wix; son, Mark A. Wix; brothers, Bobby Vincent, Ricky Vincent; sister, Beverly Vincent; brother in law, Ronald C. Vincent.
