Louis N. Newnom

Louis N. Newnom, Sr of Milford, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from the Milford Center, he was 80.  He was the son of the late, William and Anna Newnom.

Mr. Newnom proudly served in the US National Guard.  He continued to serve in the civil service for over 35 years at the Dover Air Force Base.

He enjoyed traveling, camping, and attending auction sales.  He had several purple martin houses which he enjoyed immensely. Mr. Newnom was a reserved but outgoing person who chose his friends wisely, and never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Newnom is preceded in death by his brother, William T. Newnom IV.

He is survived by his son, Louis (Theresa) Newnom, Jr. of Frederica; daughter, Karen (Jim) Ray of Dover; their mother and former wife of Mr. Newnom, Mary Newnom of Dover; grandchildren, Nicole Fisher, Jennifer Witherspoon, and Louis Newnom, III; 3 great grandchildren; and a long time friend and companion, Ursula Thomas.

Services will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington at 1 PM, with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.                                   .
