Joyce Marie Jobes, of Magnolia, passed from her earthly dwelling to her heavenly home on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from her home, surrounded by her family she loved dearly.
Mrs. Jobes worked as a Visiting Nurse Assistant for Christiana Care for over 10 years. She loved her job and being able to help people.
When she was not busy working or caring for her own family, Joyce loved to read her Bible and play on her computer, especially her favorite games, Farmville and Candy Crush. She also enjoyed going shopping and going to Bob Evans to eat. She was an Atlanta Braves fan and also a WWE fan and hardly ever missed a game or match on TV.
Joyce attended the Beacon Country Church of Camden and loved going to church. Even when she was sick, she made sure she tried to go to church. Her Faith was very important to her. Joyce loved her family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. She loved to spoil her grandkids. Joyce was known to not have a mean bone in her body, and always looked for the good in everyone, even when no one else could. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, and her kind, loving, outgoing, and caring nature will be missed by all that knew her, especially her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Bernard Darling; and a sister, Debbie Sherman.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Joseph A. Jobes; daughters and sons in law, Ruthie and Jason Vanweele, Ashley and Alex Hafer, Anna and Jeremy Proctor; mother, Nancy A. Darling; brother, Tom Darling; sister, Dawn Lee; 3 grandchildren, Brooke. Katelyn, and Trinity; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
A memorial service will take place at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE on Thursday, December 27, at 7 PM with a visitation for family and friends starting at 6PM.
