Josephine Hayman Obituary

Josephine "Josie" Hayman, of Harrington, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, she was 72.  Josephine was born in Milford, DE to the late, Bessie Mae and Charles P. Hawkins.

Josie worked at various restaurants over the years.  She worked at Liby McNeils in Houston alongside her mother, Peoples Restaurant, and also at Jennifers.  In her spare time, she loved watching NASCAR races, car #48 was her favorite, and loved watching football, especially when her favorite team played, San Francisco 49ers.  During every race and game, Josie would keep a journal and write down the scores and statistics.  She loved anything to do with Elvis, and playing cards with her sisters, especially Skip-O, and Phase 10.

Josie was a hard worker all her life.  She spoke her mind, no matter who was around her, but her bark was always worse then her bite, as she would always do anything in the world for anybody.  She was never afraid to stand up for herself.  Josie loved to eat out and also loved to eat at family dinners and functions.  She was mostly a homebody, but always enjoyed being around family.   She was always a great supporter of her husband Jerry and all of his endeavors, especially with the Moose. Her spunky, loving, and caring attitude will be sorely missed.

Josephine was a member of the Harrington Women of the Moose Chapter 1229 of Harrington.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Silbereisen, Virginia Hughes, Sharon Rash, Geraldine Taylor, Anna Marie Hawkins, who passed away at birth; brother, Ronald Hawkins.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Hayman, Sr.; sons, Richard S. (Lisa) Becker Jr., Theodore Walter Becker; daughters, Christine Marie Becker, Emily Ann Seward; step son, Nelson (Becki) Hayman; brothers, Roy Hawkins; sisters, Gloria Sylvester, Helen Gallo, Joyce Hughes; 4 grandchildren, Kailey Becker, Meagan Becker, Brandon Jaimes, Kristie Hayman; brother in laws, Dallas Hayman, Sheldon Hayman; sister in law, Sandra Foy; and many nieces and nephews.
