I got to talk to Wayne just a couple days before he passed. We shared a lot of fun times growing up, and on trips east after we moved west. My brother, Doug, and I spent many days on the farm with Wayne and Lois, so much so that we felt more like siblings than cousins. A big adventure with him when we were much younger was that we lassoed a pig, thinking we could hold it. Instead we got dragged through the muck, and then had to tell his father what we had done, rope was still on the pig.
We were very sorry to get the news. He was much too young. I'll miss him, and sharing fun memories. Our sympathy to all the family and friends.
Love, Glenn and Carole, Seattle
I'm sorry we cannot attend the service on Sat.
When his passed away I read an anonymous poem that I felt fit him.
It seems appropriate for Wayne too.
"Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die."

I am so sorry to learn of Wayne's passing. We had such a grand time visiting with all of the "wrench" guys at Portland, Ind. Wayne was always so very nice to me and I will miss his company. He was always at the center of the visitations. Again, so sorry for your loss.
