I first met Chris in 6th Grade at Brandywine Heights Middle School back in 1987. We were both friends with Travis Bennett, and so we would all sit together for lunch. Although we weren't terribly close, I always considered Chris "one of the good eggs," and a friend by association.

Years later in about 2010 or so, I reconnected with Chris thru Facebook. Then last year in 2016, I got to spend some time with him during a trip he made to PA towards the end of the year. It was nice to catch up with him for awhile and share a meal together after such a long period of time. I had hoped I would get to make a trip down this year to visit, but unfortunately my life has faced some struggles myself this year and I was sadly unable to make a trip down to Delaware. So I'm extra glad I at least got to spend some time with him last year.

I always looked forward to seeing his positive posts in my newsfeed on Facebook, as well as his love for superhero shows and movies (of which we both shared).

I watched over the last year or two as he struggled with health issues, yet somehow always managed to maintain a positive, upbeat outlook on everything. His overwhelmingly positive outlook on things should serve as an inspiration to everyone in the world, as that is such a rare thing in today's world.

I will truly miss Chris and his wonderfully positive outlook on life. But I know he's in heaven now...pain free and enjoying the fruits of a life well lived.

I want to wish his family my deepest, most sincere condolences on their loss. Just know your son was a ray of sunshine in a world that is too often filled with gloom.

From the day I met Chris I considered him was a brother. He was really goofy and carefree back then. At the same time he was a wonderful and caring man.

He was there for me when my youngest son and mother passed away, and kept my spirits high by reminding me of how much God loved us and would not give us more than we could handle.

We spent many nights discussing politics, religion, relationships, and life in general. He was someone you could always go to and end up seeing a different light on a subject.

In the 12 years or so that I have known him, he went through a lot of ups and downs when it came to his health, mental status, and a few relationships. But he always found a way to be optimistic about the future.

He loved the idea of teaching children not only in the subjects that he was assigned, but in life and responsibilities. He saw such a bright future for the children even though he rarely saw them more than once.

In short Chris was the kind of man that we all should strive to be like in multiple ways. He will be missed dearly by those who had the honor of getting to know him.

Thank you to all those who were there for him in his times of need and who helped mold him into the caring man he became.

Chris was like a brother to me. He was such an amazing man. His nickname from Bill and I was BayMax because he was huggable and such a sweetheart. Chris will be missed so much. His light for Jesus will continue to shine in our hearts.

I still can't believe that you have moved on. While I am certain that you are enjoying heaven and are glad to be free of pain and illness, you leave behind a plethora of family, friends, and of course Kara who will miss your presence on Earth. Mike and Mary, prayers for you in this sorrowful time.
