Albert L. Wright

Albert L. Wright of Harrington, passed away on Friday, November 24, at the Milford Hospice Center, he was 85.  He was born in Andrewsville, DE to the late, George Albert and Myrtle Wright.

Mr. Wright served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.  The last job that he had prior to retirement was an insurance salesman for Equitable Life Insurance Co.

Beside his great love for his family, Mr. Wright loved fishing.  He loved nothing better then to be out on the beach with his family, surf pole in hand.  He also enjoyed hunting. 

Mr. Wright was known to be extremely meticulous and organized, probably the most organized man you would ever meet.  He was very frugal and conservative, but provided well for his wife and children.  He was very caring and would help anyone in need.  He will be remembered as a wonderful husband and father and will be sorely missed.

Mr. Wright was a member of over 45 years of the Prospect United Methodist Church. He was also a 60 year member of the Harrington American Legion.  His love of surf fishing propelled him into membership into the Delaware Mobile Surf Fishing Assoc (40 years), North Carolina Beach Buggy Assoc., and the Montauk Surfcasters Assoc.

He is preceded in death by a son, William G. Wright; brother, Carl Wright.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Lou Wright of Harrington; sons, Richard Lee Wright of Millington, TN, Thomas A. Wright of Harrington; brother, Ray Wright of Milford; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Thursday, November 30 at 1PM, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
