Dee Wisneski-Administrative Secretary
Dee handles all the office work at the funeral home, answers phones, and helps with viewings, funerals, and aftercare. She is an important asset to the company and keeps everyone straight.
Bonnie Melvin-Funeral Assistant and After Care Coodinator
Bonnie is the wife of Mr. Melvin and is a registered nurse with Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She assists with viewings and funerals, and any other aspects of the funeral home when needed. She handles all aftercare programs, and stays in contact with the families that we serve through various correspondence and home visits.
Carlton Goodhand-Funeral Assistant/Lay Person
Carlton is a longtime native of Harrington and helps out with viewings and funerals. He also serves as a lay person and officiates at funerals when needed.
Tammy Williamson-Accounting (Standing)
Tammy is the daughter of Tom and Bonnie and handles the funeral home accounting.
C. Eugene Melvin-Funeral Director (Standing)
Gene is a licensed funeral director in Delaware and licensed to sell insurance. He serves in all capacities of the funeral home and operates the monument company.
Mable Justice (Standing)
Mable is serving her apprenticeship to become a licensed funeral director. Her long term goal is to be employed with the Dover Air Force Base Mortuary as an embalmer. She is currently in the Reserves and works full time as a correctional officer.
Crystal Johnson (Standing)
Crystal is also a daughter of Tom and Bonnie, and takes care of the Pets at Peace division of the funeral home. She assists with all aspects of the funeral home, and is taking mortuary science classes online to obtain her funeral director's license.
Thomas E. Melvin-Funeral Director (Standing)
Mr. Melvin is a licensed funeral director in the states of Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. He is a first generation funeral director, licensed for over 33 years, and started the Melvin Funeral Home in 1990. He continues to operate the funeral home in all aspects.
Associations
The Melvin Funeral Home considers it essential to be involved within the community and professional organizations. That is why we belong and participate with the Harrington Lions Club, Harrington Business Association, Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce and the Calvary Wesleyan Church.
Tom and Gene belong and actively participate in Professional Organizations such as the Delaware State Funeral Directors Association, Del-Mar-Va Funeral Service Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. They stay active to continually educate themselves with the funeral industry, and stay on top of trends and changes in the profession.
