Welcome to the memorial page for

Sadie Mae Carter

May 9, 2017

Sadie Mae Carter, 80, of Harrington, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, from the Milford Hospice Center.  She was born in Felton, DE to the late Lester and Mina Killen.

Mrs. Carter retired from the ILC of Frederica.  She was the model for the first space suit that was ever manufactured, something she was very proud of.  In her younger years she loved to travel, as well as singing and dancing, and she loved her country music.  She had a love for animals and owned countless dogs over the years.  One of her favorite activities was watching the squirrels and birds outside feeding and frolicking around.

Mrs. Carter truly loved her family.  She loved life in general and was always there for you when needed.  She never met a stranger and was known as a sweetheart.  She had numerous friends, along with her family, that could testify about her sweet, caring, and loving nature. She will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank the Lane family, Cindy, Steve, and Sam Lane, as well as Faye Boone for the love and care that they bestowed on Mrs. Carter.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Carter; son, Gary Carter; daughter, Donna Carter; and grandson, Christopher T. Carter.

She leaves behind her son, Larry (Cindy) Carter of Harrington; daughter in law, Trena Carter of Harrington, brother, Albert F. Killen of Camden/Wyoming; grandchildren, Brian, Gary Jr., Tommy, Robert, Katlyn, Michael, Lauren; great grandchildren, Brenden, Savannah, Cameron, Shane Jr., Harper, Emersyn, her loving companion who took great care of her, George Lane, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
